Uriel

 By tradition, Uriel is known as the forth archangel (alongside Gabriel, Michael and Raphael). Uriel is associated with light, wisdom and strength, but references are mainly apocryphal. Assuming that all heaven rejoiced in the incarnation, and drawing on the folk traditions surrounding Uriel this piece imaginatively explores what this particular archangel got up to  2000 years ago in Bethlehem.

Tansley is a curate in Wells. When she was little she was punished for being one of the better readers in the school by being made a narrator in the infant school nativity rather than being allowed to be Mary or an angel. She is making up for this in adulthood...
