Noah

In St Mark's, Venice, there is a cheerful 12th century mosaic of the story of Noah. These include his naked drunkeness and the (hilarious) reactions of his family.

Noah's story is both mythological and human, strangely full of the same imagery which clusters around Jesus. Humourous and horrifying it reminds us of the perseverance of human sin, and teaches us to wait with eagerness for the coming of Christ.

Today's story is told by Caitlin, who is (almost) incumbent of St Chad's and St Luke's, Skerton in the city of Lancaster. She was until a week ago curate at Ripon Cathedral.
